Trump Expresses Regret Over Personal Pain

Donald Trump on Thursday expresses regret over personal pain he had caused through ill chosen word he has used "in the heat of his debate,"an unexpected and uncharacteristic declaration of remorse from a candidate whose public personality is defined by combative and bombastic  style, expressed regret.

Trump, reading from prepared remarks Thursday night, acknowledged that he sometimes says "the wrong thing" in an astonishing act of contrition that signaled Trump's willingness to break from his characteristic brashness and bare-knuckles style that carried him to victory in the Republican primaries, but risks dooming him in the general election.

"Sometimes in the heat of debate, and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don't choose the right words and you say the wrong things.I have done that,"Trump said with a light smile, during a campaign rally.

"And believe it or not,I regret it.I do regret it ,particularly where it may have caused 'personal pain'.too much is at stake for us to be consumed with these issue, but one thing I can promise you is this "I will always tell you the truth,"Trump Said.

The real estate mogul did not say which of his numerous controversial statements he regretted, but his remarks came on the heels of recent controversies that ranged from feuding with the parents of a slain Muslim-American soldier to suggesting "Second Amendment people" could act to stop Hillary Clinton from appointing a liberal Supreme Court.

Trump's public expression of regret also followed his decision earlier this week to shake up his campaign leadership, installing a new campaign manager and bringing on a campaign CEO.

Speaking on Thursday,Trump did not specify what he regret and did not apologize to anyone.

Trump tore into Clinton during his speech, which he read from a prepared remarks on teleprompter and called on her to apologize for telling "one lies and another."

Trump has regularly accused Clinton of dishonest in an attempt to exploit her low honesty rating in public opinion polls

"While sometimes I can be too honest,Hillary Clinton is the exact opposite:she never tells the truth.one lies after another, and getting worse after each passing day,"Trump said.

"The American people are still waiting for Hillary to apologize for all of the many lies she had told to them, and many times she had betrayed them."

Trump's campaign shakeup -- particularly bringing on the head of the controversial, far-right Breitbart News -- was widely considered a return to the "let Trump be Trump" mantra that guided Trump's campaign to victory in the Republican primaries.

But the move could backfire, looking inauthentic for voters who sees a clear departure from his past performance.

As supporters left the rally on Charlotte on Thursday, many said they didn't see any change in the candidate they want as president. But others say they noticed the teleprompter on the stage and Trump appeared different.

"All of this politicians have been doing that for all of these years,so now he sounds a little bit more like  a politician, but I guess that's what people want to hear said by a resident of Charlotte area."the undecided voters would rather hear this so he's probably appeasing undecided voters and I like him better when his speaking like that."

A woman who overheard the man talk shook her head and Said "I like him when he free libs better."

While Trump's remarks on Thursday marked a seismic change in the brash billionaire's style, it is still not clear whether the change was the mark of a lasting shift in strategy and tone.

Trump has repeatedly hinted at striking a more inclusive and presidential tone, but has also said time and again that he does not want to "change" or "pivot."

"I am who I am. It's me. I don't want to change. Everyone talks about, 'Oh are you going to pivot?' I don't want to pivot. You have to be you. If you start pivoting you are not being honest with people," Trump told local Wisconsin station WKDT this week.

But the Clinton campaign immediately expressed doubt over the sincerity of Trump's contrition, calling it "teleprompter regret" and pressed Trump to go further.

Trump who also blamed the media for most of his missteps

"The established media doesn't cover what really matters in this country,or what is really going on in people's lives,"he said

"they will take words of mine out of my context and take weeks obsessing over every single words, and then pretend to discover some hidden meaning in what I said."

Trump also make a direct speech to black voters on Thursday promising to give attention to inner cities and accusing the Democrats of pandering. He also accuse Clinton of 'Bigotry',echoing a remark he make on Tuesday during a speech on law enforcement in West Bend,Wis.

"What do you have to lose in trying something new?Watch I will fix it.Watch.you have nothing to lose,"Trump said "They have been playing with you for 60 70 80 years and many more decades, you have nothing to lose.I will do a great job."

As Trump spoke, about 25 staffers gathered at Trump tower for an impromptu viewing party at the building's 14th floor a court of one adviser's,Where a new space for volunteers and adviser's offices just opened.cheers erupted as Trump offered his remark on humility and harshly criticized Clinton with campaign chief executive Stephen Bannon tracking responses to the speeches from his phone and campaign manager back from a round of television interview.

Trump is scheduled to tour the flooding area of Lousiania on Friday, which he mentioned at the beginning of his speech as he offered condolences.similar are in the work,an adviser said,as an effort to showcase Trump in a more presidential light.

Debate preparation is also scheduled to commenced in the coming days, though the campaign are reluctant to share details.
