Rooney Should Consider 'MLS' Move,Timber Owner Suggest
Merritt Paulson said Manchester United Captain Wayne Rooney would find MLS attractive, the Portland Timber's owner suggest.
Rooney,30,could find it difficult to hold his place at united, but he has a goal and an assist in two Premier League games this season.
Paulson believes that the England international will be well suited to the United state,if he makes the move in the near future.
"I would argue that he still have some good soccer's ahead of him,"he told the mirror.
"I think he will be a great signing for MLS,100 percent MLS will be attractive for him."
"Keeping in mind that he is a very good and talented player, who have quality soccer ahead of him,you are not talking about 34-or-35 years old player."
"I get excited about the impact he would make in MLS,more than a player who is coming in later in his career."
MLS has already attracted the likes of premiership stars Stephen Gerard,Frank Lampard,as well as kaka,Andrea pirlo,Didier Drogba and David Villa.
Big spending china are rivaling American team, but Paulson said there are more than money players should consider.
"China is a factor but player have to know where they want to play and what is best for their legacy and lifestyle, where they want to live,"Paulson said.
"I think America compare favorably,I wouldn't want to play soccer in Beijing right now. "
"I am not saying that because I don't like china but the air quality issue is something they have to deal with in a sport that requires fitness,"the Timber owner stated.
