Russian Bombers Launches Syrian Strike From Iran for first time
Russian bombers flying from an Iranian airbase have struck target In Syria, for the very first time the Islamic state has allowed foreign power to conduct military operations from his territory since the 1979 revolution.
Tu-22m3 long range bombers and SU-34 flying fighters strike from Hamadan airbase in western Iran struck target,near Aleppo Dier Ed Zor and Idlib on Tuesday morning,the Russian minstrel of defence said in a statement.
"Flying with full bomb load from Iran Hamadan airbase,the aircraft carried out attack on Islamic state and jahbat al Nusra position."the ministry said.Al Nusra a powerful jihad is lined to Al Qaeda.
Fighters escort for the mission flew out of Russian Hymemim base in western Syria.all aircraft returned to their respective bases after the mission,the ministry said.
Russian state television showed footage of bomber and transport aircraft apparently landing in Iran on Tuesday morning,but it's unclear how many aircraft have been deployed or whether any other aircraft will be permanent in the country.
Tuesday mission is the first time Russian aircraft have flown mission from Iraq since Moscow launched air strike last September.
Russian long range strategic bomber have previously flown mission over syria from bases in southern Russia.having then in Iran will significantly reduce flying time,allowing the Russian to intensify operation over syria.
Russian and Iran have both shown support for bashaar al-Assad embattled refine since war broke out in 2011.
