Germany Moves To Olympic Final

Germany moves to final last night with a 2:0 comfortably win over Nigeria,in a tightly encounter.they overcame Nigeria to book final with Brazil.

Goals scored by Lukas Klostermann and Nils Petersen secured a maximum win for the Germans to move to final in the competition.

In a tense affairs at Soa Paulo's arena corinthians on Wednesday,it was Horst Hrubesch side who took the lead early on proceeding,Max Meyer  picking out full-back Klostermann who dully rolled home from a six yards out.

Germany survived a scared moment later, however as a calamitous error from goalkeeper Timo Horn allowed Aminu Umar a clear sight on goal, but the olsmanlispor forward could only drill a tame effort straight at the backpedalling German shotstopper.

Perhaps matter could have been worse for Nigeria soon after, but fortunately for Udifreke Udo,he escaped with just a caution after diving in recklessly on Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry.

David Salke squandered a gilt edged chance to extend Germany lead as the half wore on before,on the stroke of the interval.borrussia dortmund defender Mathias Ginter performed brilliantly to prevent Umar from netting with a last ditch sliding challenge.

Surprisingly,it was Nigeria who came out the strongest following the start, though despite creating many chances, with Mikel John obi going close with a header,Samson Siasia's side could not stop the stubborn German defence.

Victory was finally sealed for the Germans when in the closing moment, selke cross-cum shot was squeezed in by second half substitute Petersen, ensuring that the final will be a repeat of 2014 world cup final between Germany and Brazil senior's side which ended 7-1 to Joachim Low's men.

The result guarantee a medal for Germany in their first appearance at an Olympic men's football competition since 1988,while Nigeria will face Honduras who were hammered 6:0 by Brazil, earlier on Wednesday to decide who take home the bronze.
