Man shot imam,another injured in Queens,New York



Police had confirm the shooting of an imam to death by a yet to be identified man and another man injured as they walk through the street of borough,Queens.

The men were approached behind by the killer who shot them both at the head,a police spokeman said.

Imam maulama  Akonjee, 55, moved to new York from Bangladesh two years ago,according to report in New York.Noone can say if they were targeted because of their faith.

The imam and the other man,64, were shot after a short walk from a large mosque in Queens.

Report have it that a large number of Muslims gathered at the point of scene to demostrate,saying the shooting was a hate crime,although police are still investigating.

A man was seen leaving the point of scene of the shooting,holding a gun,no-one have been arrested at the time of  this report.
